Maybe she's TOO screen accurate...
Blackarachnia is a solid release in the ongoing series of Beast MP figures. As we saw with the other releases in the line, Blackarachnia trades beast mode accuracy for a hyper-real robot mode. We see more high-quality printing that highlights the excellent sculpt and remediates the aesthetic of the animation of the original cartoon. The accessories are pertinent to the character and recall some of the most important moments for BA in the series. The included stand and base for the web is also a welcome addition to an otherwise small (but expensive) figure.
The transformation scheme is not of the same sort of magic as Dinobot's and the beast mode suffers for the excellent robot mode. I have not yet transformed her back to beast mode, and I am not looking forward to attempting to do so because it looks finicky given the fact that it involves rolling the bot into a spider shape. My only other complaint about this figure is that the spider legs are a touch loose in their sockets. They don't fall out, but the joints are not as solid as others on the same figure.
This figure is a must have for BW collectors and makes you hope that we eventually see the bird dog given the MP treatment. For people without a connection to BW or who are looking for a satisfying transformation, you may consider skipping this figure for another.
