Maketoys MCB-02 Utopia Quick Review
Utopia is a big boy - at over 18" tall, make sure you have space! I have to say, the online video reviews are correct. He has great articulation pretty much everywhere; nice ratcheting joints; he really supports himself well. While he is not quite as big as his 24" "official" cousin, the paint, the molded details, the clever-yet-relatively-simple transformation, and high pose-ability make this version of our favorite G1 city-bot much more visually satisfying and more fun to play with. A word of caution: always be aware of the tracks - make a wrong move and they can break off without much effort. At this price point, you definitely want to avoid that if possible. I will say that TCP & MakeToys are there for you if you run into problems. So, if you have the space and the cash, and if you want the best representation of this character to date, I definitely recommend Utopia. You won't be disappointed. Have fun!
