A Worthy Inaugural Entry
I watched a number of reviews and videos, including the highly informative one from The Chosen Prime, and saw a number of opinions on social media. and I finally decided to add this one to my collection and...it went out of stock, restock coming soon. So I waited, and when it came back into stock I pounced. Having the figure in hand, I am highly impressed. He is solid, sturdy, with good articulation and an intricate transformation that is still fun. He looks good in all modes, which is not always easy with a triple changer. I will definitely watch for more from OpenPlay because it seems to me they can only get better from here. There are some points that could be quibbles. The face is rather flat and expressionless. there area some tabs that don't stay tabbed as securely as I might like. But he looks excellent on my shelf, and I am very pleased

I have researched a variety of Springer until I came up to this. I am quite surprised and impressed by Open and Play's Big Spring. So glad I bought him during the Christmas Sale. Toyworld's Allen is massive in size and a favorite but again, compared to MP Scales, that one is just too big for a Springer. I collected most of the Generations line and Fall of Cybertron Springer was a really great figure update from G1. Most reviewers disliked Big Spring's car mode due to a smaller rear. I am honestly OK with it since he is supposed to be a Cybertronian car. Springer was described in G1 Cartoon as "The Mighty Helicopter" anyways so I am more going to convert him on that altmode often. Transformation is fluid and fun. Alt modes including Robot mode are impressive and hides most kibble. For an almost MP standard on a 3P Transformer, for less than $80 is a steal. Plastic and overall feel to him does not feel cheap either compared to recent Hasbro line ups such as Titan's Return and Power of the Primes. His current wave mate Big Cannon is also highly recommended since I have him as well.
